Assignment 4, week 7

Find a movie on youtube that you feel has a link with the book. Post the link and explain your choice.
note: the movie shouldn't be offensive in any way.

View my choice here! This is a movie made by someone in a skiff in Alaska. I imagine that Cole must have had similar views when he was brought to his island for his banishment. Overpowering nature.

    I have chosen this movie, because in the book Cole was nearly killed by a "white spirit bear”.

    I have chosen this movie because you can see one man building a cabin (this should be Cole), and you see two other guys giving him instructions and helping him sometimes (those are Edwin and Garvey)

    I have chosen this movie because this is also about a large black bear in Alaska and in the book, Cole saw it on the shore where it after a while disappeared. Just like in this movie.

    But I do not feel like that's something to be shown for this assigment (because I think they can't act.. I'm sorry) So i picked this one. Since I like the screaming of the boys. And because it shows that the water in which Cole bathed must've been really cold. I think that Cole would've been screaming, too, if he were alone. (The first time!)

    I choose this movie because it goes about someone living alone in the wilderness, if you listen very carefully you hear he said he will be there for a year. I choose it not because of the background of the man, but because he had to build his own cabine and because he lives in the wilderness.

    I feel this refers to Cole who survives by eating worms and other stuff. I can imagine what he had to feel like only eating this just so he wouldn't die.

    * Read the description of the video *

    I feel that the beginning of the video is (quite obviously) linked to the book. » the father beats the son when under influence of alcohol. And somewhere in the middle you see him crawling over the street, because he was beaten by his dad(this is not shown)
    The end doesn't really have a connection with the story :)

    I've chosen this movie, because Cole wanted to escape. As you can see in the movie, the turtle is swimming against the tide. In the book, Cole wants to escape through swimming from island to island. Later on, he notices that he is swimming against the tide. That's why I thought that this would be a good comparitive to the book.
