This week is the last blog-week for this book. So far you have done a brilliant job!
Assignment 6: Come up with a question/assignment about the book. The question should be an open question and it important that fellow-bloggers are challenged to come up with different answers. The question/assignment can also be sth that we can do as a class (or even in class and spend some time on this week during one of our lessons).

This is my assignment:
ReplyDeleteMost of the time stories have what you in Dutch have a "moraal" (I don't know how you say it in English) or a lesson, your assignment is to come up with the lesson of this book and come up with what you have learned from it. (This can differ).

Ps: I chose to ask this question because I think it would be good to see what you have learned and what other people have learned it goes deeper into the book and I think it can change your view of the book.
PPS: I think we can also do this in class, just write what you have learned from the book on a paprer and than another person will read it.

ReplyDeleteAs Cole is lying on the ground, he begins to think of many things. Explain why "control" is the thing he is most angry about. Do also think of a way how he could control himself or prevent himself from thinking about control.

I don't know if you have to react to every question asked. But I just do it because in the assignment it says fellow bloggers should come up with more answers. So here it comes:
ReplyDeleteI tkink here thinks about control so much to actually think how he and his father ended up so out of control. Maybe he is angry about himself being so out of control. I don't think he can come up with a way to not think about control because the attach also has to do with control. And he thinks he is dying so I don't think he cares about what to say anymore. He might prevent it by thinking about who he should talk to and what he should say if he doesn't die.

This is my question/assignment:
ReplyDeleteCole is a boy who looked badly at older people. He was angry at them and this was caused by his parents.
Do you think the things Cole did and the problems he made. Specially the thing he did with Peter. Do you think this was caused by his parents or by himself. So was he old enough to behave and control himself, or had his parents caused the trouble in Cole's mind?
I don't know if we can do this in class but I think it's a question, everyone could answer different.

ReplyDeleteIn the book, Cole get's every time new chances. What if you had to decide for Cole. Would you give him all the second, third and maybe even fourth chances. Even after what he has done?

ReplyDeleteAt the end of the book, Cole hears twice that Peter tried to commit suicide, but no one knows what to do to help Peter. Cole thinks that Peter can heal too if he comes to the island, just like he healed. How would you try to help peter, and why?

ReplyDeleteCole wasn't really himself after the attack of the spirit bear. He began to think different about life, this was actually too late because he'd already committed much sins. If you were in this situation what would you do.
